Finish Care Tips
- Wash your vehicle as often as possible (every day is not too often).
- Keep your vehicle's finish as clean as possible. Remove sap, bird droppings or any foreign substance from your finish as soon as possible.
- Use a soft car wash mitt to wash your vehicle.
- To wash thoroughly before applying wax, use dish detergent, which is a harsher detergent and will remove old wax.
- To wash your vehicle after a good waxing use a milder car wash soap that will not strip off the wax.
- Use a soft, clean towel or rag (comparable to a baby diaper) to wax your vehicle.
- Use a soft or liquid wax.
- Do not wash your vehicle in direct sunlight. Choose a cool shady place to wax your vehicle.
- Wax one portion of your vehicle at a time, continue to work around the vehicle until it is complete. (right door, right fender, hood, left fender, left door, etc.)
- Do not apply wax to textured areas of bumpers, moldings, or trim areas.
Touch Up
- Obtain the correct touch up paint by order from your vehicle's factory paint code found on the drivers door jamb sticker.
- Keep touch up paint in a cool dry place, not in your vehicle.
- Use a match stick pulled out of a match book to apply touch up paint. Use the fuzzy end of the match stick, dampen it lightly with paint and apply one coat at a time, allowing for drying.
